Privacy policy

Liftella has no user account. Your onboarding answers, including health-related ones like your weight and height, are stored only on your iPhone. To improve the app, pseudonymous usage data goes to our own server; purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. The details are below.

This data does not leave your device and is not transferred to us or anyone else. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud, Apple's terms apply to that backup.

Notifications

Workout reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. There is no push server. iOS asks for your permission, and you can withdraw it in iOS Settings at any time.

Usage data (our own server)

To see where onboarding gets stuck, whether the subscription screen is clear and whether workouts get finished, the app sends usage events to our own server (https://liftella.melv-m.workers.dev/v1/events). There is no third-party analytics service and no third-party analytics SDK in the app.

What is sent

Never sent: your first name, any email address, your exact age, height, weight, goal weight, exact BMI or your weight entries.

Health-related information

Weight, height, BMI and body details are health data. They stay on your device. Our server only receives the coarse ranges listed above (age group, BMI range, weight-change range, body type level), pseudonymously under the random installation ID, without a name or contact details. We use them only in aggregate to understand who the app works for, never to assess individuals, and we do not share them.

Where, how long, legal basis

The server runs on Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) as our processor; the database is restricted to the EU jurisdiction, so the data is stored and processed in the EU. Any access from the US is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. Events are deleted automatically after 14 months.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in improving the app. You can object at any time: turn off Share usage data in Profile → Settings. From then on nothing is sent, and the events stored for your installation are deleted from our server. Or email melv00705@gmail.com.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes purchases. We do not receive your payment details. To manage subscriptions we use RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) as our processor. It receives a randomly generated app user ID, Apple receipts and purchase events (which product, price, when purchased, renewed or cancelled) and technical data such as app version, device model, language and country. It does not receive your onboarding answers, name or email address. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of the contract; transfers to the US rely on Standard Contractual Clauses. Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Install attribution (Postback)

To understand which campaign or channel people find Liftella through (e.g. TikTok, Apple Ads or organic), we use the attribution service Postback (postback.sh) as our processor. It receives a pseudonymous install identifier (the app-scoped device identifier "IDFV" and our random user ID), Apple's AdServices token to attribute Apple Ads campaigns, technical data (device model, iOS version, app version, language, country, IP address when connecting), one-time onboarding events (which step was reached, whether the paywall was seen) and purchase events via RevenueCat. It does not receive health information, your name or email address. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is not read. The purpose is measuring which ads and channels lead to installs and purchases (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest). The "Share usage data" switch (Profile → Settings) also stops Postback and deletes its data on the device.

No ads, no tracking, no sale of data

Liftella shows no ads and contains no advertising SDKs; Postback only measures where installs come from. The app does not read the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, which is why it does not ask for App Tracking permission. We do not sell data or share it beyond the cases described here.

This website

Cloudflare serves these pages and processes necessary connection data (IP address, time, requested URL). We do not analyze it. This website sets no cookies and includes no tracking; only the private admin area sets a strictly necessary cookie after sign-in.

Children

Liftella is not directed at children under 16.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. Because we only know you by a random ID, please include the analytics ID shown in Profile → Settings with your request. Email melv00705@gmail.com. You may also complain to a data protection authority; in Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde (Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna).

Delete everything

Deleting the app removes all data on your device. Usage data on our server is deleted by turning off Share usage data or by emailing us, and in any case after 14 months. Cancel your subscription separately with Apple.
